Richard Denayrou
Engineer - Director of ALTIA

After specialising in acoustics (acoustics engineering studies at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris), Richard Denayrou worked from 1983 to 1989 at the Laboratoire National d’Essais in Paris. He was first envolved in a research project on developing a test sequence for measuring acoustic power using acoustic sound intensity. He then worked on developing control methods for different electroacoustic applications: he was in charge of certifying hearing aids, hifi equipement, PA equipment.

Managing the room acoustics research department of IRCAM from 1989 to 1994, he took part in many research and expertise projects. Amonst other projects, he was envolved in a comparative study of the best European concert halls and developed an in situ method for measuring sound absorption and diffusion coefficients of materials. He also worked on a number of design projects including the variable acoustics of the concert hall at the Cité de la Musique in Paris La Villette.

Emily Morin
Project Engineer

During her BEng Music Technology studies at the University of York, UK, from 1994 to 1997, Emily Morin specialised in acoustics and signal processing. She also continued to play the violin for which she received the Certificat de Fin d'Etudes with distinction at the Regional National Conservatoire in Caen. Having obtained the diploma of Directeur du Son (Tonmeister) from the Centre Primus at the University of Strasbourg in 1999, she was able to specialise in sound recording and artistic direction.

From 1999 to 2001, Emily Morin worked on two research project: the automatic detection of cello right hand playing techniques in contemporary music at IRCAM and online acoustic facade isolation calculations for airborne traffic noise, an ADEME project for the company Euphonia. She joined Altia at the start of the year 2001 whilst finishing an Acoustics Engineering course at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.
